Te Rā Hāte Māwhero!

Noku Te AoOctober 8, 2020

Pink Shirt Day 2020 will be held on Friday 16 October! Celebrated annually around the globe, Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying, after a peer was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. In Aotearoa, Pink Shirt Day works to create schools, workplaces, communities and whānau where everyone feels safe, valued and respected.

On Pink Shirt Day we ask Aotearoa to Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora – Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying!

Celebrated annually around the globe, Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, took a stand against homophobic bullying after a new year 10 student was harassed and threatened for wearing pink.

We are celebrating Pink Shirt Day at Nōku te Ao -come dressed in a pink shirt, or other pink kakahu and support this awesome kaupapa.

A gold coin koha for the pink shirt koha box would be very much appreciated.

Ngā mihi.
