Ngā kaupapa mo te tau!

Noku Te AoJanuary 29, 2019

We have got a full-on year ahead of ourselves! All sorts of exciting things are being planned...

Last week some of the kaiako went on a wānanga at Onuku Marae with Te Pā o Rākaihautū. We had an amazing time and started thinking about planning for the new pā campus. The ideas were flowing and some of the plans were amazing! It was a fabulous whakawhanaungatanga time for all of us and we are going to be working a lot closer with the Pā in all that we do. Starting with Nōku Te Ao ki Te Pā going to Halswell Pools this Friday. Hopefully mātua have received an email regarding this. There is also a trip to Woodend Christian Camp with Te Pā o Rākaihautū coming up next week - keep an eye out for the notices. We will try to include both centres where we can (we may need some mātua awhi to get there, hint hint) but our aim is Kotahitanga for the whole Pā/Nōku Te Ao.

Soon we will be joining Te Pā o Rākaihautū to do a planning wananga with all of you so keep an eye out for notices!

Also this year we will be focusing on te reo Māori, not just for your tamariki but also for you all - we are going to be adding our waiata to the website, we will be checking in with you all about where you are at on our Poutama ( it's not just for the tamariki) and suggesting great places to learn ( ie, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa or Toro Mai through Massey University).

We are carrying on with Whakauka - Sustainable education which has many sub-kaupapa - te maara, hangarua, ngā noke me ngā heihei. Nōku te Ao Mairehau has some new heihei - wel,l one heihei and six pipi! Our tamariki will be able to help care for and watch these pipi grow into heke-laying heihei - amazing!

We will also be planning for a day trip to Hanmer at the end of winter and there will be other trips as we go along! Make sure you keep in the loop - read your pānui!
