We are extremely proud to celebrate a landmark achievement by the Norwood International High School Drumline. At the annual Australian Band and Orchestra Directors' Association (ABODA) Festival, our ensemble delivered a masterclass performance to win the Advanced Section and claim the overall Drumline Winner for an extraordinary third consecutive year.

This year’s victory was particularly hard-fought and rewarding. With ABODA expanding the festival to feature two separate drumline sections, the overall level of competition across South Australia reached an all-time high. Facing formidable lineups and a significantly elevated standard from rival schools, the NIHS Drumline knew that defending their state title would require raising their own performance to an entirely new tier.

The ensemble responded with remarkable maturity, discipline, and artistic focus. Adjudicators commended the group’s exceptional technical clarity, unified dynamic control, and commanding stage presence; qualities that ultimately set them apart in a fiercely competitive field.

Achieving a 'three-peat' under these heightened conditions reflects the hundreds of hours our student musicians spent polishing every accent, tap, and visual detail.
