Native Planting Guide and Webmap

Te Ao Tūroa, Dunedin's Environment Strategy —

The DCC’s Native Planting Guide and Webmap were created to help inform small scale native planting projects in Dunedin city. The planting guide is a resource designed to provide overall information about native planting, and the webmap can be used to find out more specific information about plant species suitable for a certain location/area.

Kōwhai are easy to grow and can take as little as two years to develop from seedling to a plant large enough to put in the ground. They can flower within seven years. Easily grown from seed as long as the seed coat is abraded with sandpaper.  — Image by: John Barkla
