Te Hapua -
Lance Muller - February 28, 2019
This year all Year 7/8 whanau rooms will be participating in a 6 week block of learning at Te Hapua. Each Friday we will walk down to Te Hapua to learn about DSLR Photography and 3D Design and Printing. 7/8 LM will be the first group to experience this fantastic EOTC learning opportunity.
DSLR stands for single lens digital reflex camera. First the students will learn some photography tricks and skills. They will then get the opportunity to use some amazing cameras to take their own photos. They will also use photographic software to manipulate the images after they have been taken. We are looking forward to seeing some of the creative photographic images that come out of this learning.
3D Design and printing is exactly that. Students will use an online design and modelling software call 1, 2, 3D to design and then print an object. The students have already used Tinkercad ( another 3D design software) at Lincoln, so this is an excellent extension of their learning. The 3D design and print groups also will be involved in a range of other 3D design projects using cardboard/paper and Hama Beads.
Check out some of the pictures from our first session. If today is anything to go by, the next few Fridays promise to be both exciting and engaging.
