Kakanō Choir
Another great year for the Kakanō Choir.
Kakanō Choir have had a lot of amazing learning and performing experiences this year. While learning several enjoyable songs we have also been exploring the major scale and pitch relativity using curwen hand signals. Students related to this method very quicky and effectively and can now respond, singing the correct pitch to hand signals instead of mirroring the correct sound in buddies and with teacher guidance. We also learnt a lot about keeping rhythm and the latin names for dynamics (very soft-pianissimo to very loud-fortissimo and all the different volume levels in between). We learnt to follow different forms and showcased some of our talent with solo performances on violin and a various singers and have a few different musical games which are very popular. The Gala was a great send off with Kakano Kapahaka merging with Kauri to perform Heal the World and A Million Dreams. Thank you for another great year, Kakanō Choir!
