The importance of being a good digital citizen.

Margaret Trotter —

We are all immersed in a digital world as much as a real one. Everyone has experience using digital devices but how many of us realise the implications of living in this new world?

The new Digital Technologies Curriculum is for all of us from teaching early childhood through to year 13.  It's up to all of us to support young people to not only be able to use digital technologies but also to design, build and create digital systems as they learn.  Without this knowledge, our student may not be employable in the future.  It is important that our student know how to use digital devices and site in a responsible way to ensure they keep themselves safe.  As the school holidays start your child may be using digital devices more often.  Remember to remind them about how to stay safe and check that they know the person they are communicating with.  There are a number of new games that students are being exposed to.  Please check what your child is doing on their device,  get them to share their games with you.  Remember Netsafe has many useful tips on how to help you and your child.
