Integrated Learning

This term the children are learning in the key area of Science. The topic is aimed at understanding of heating and cooling. The children have been involved in a rotation and are learning about ice, the water cycle and what will and won't dissolve. We've been conducting experiments, reading information, watching video and presenting thinking in many ways.

Maths

This week has been NZ Maths week. The students have had a revved up programme with more time dedicated to Maths. Extra activities have included problem solving, Maths Hero posts, games, time on Matific and group learning. 

Hero

Here is a link to the school website with information about how to hook into the parent portal through Hero. This will give you access to notifications and you will be able to see your child's learning updates.

Run Bike Run

On Thursday 17 August we are running the Year 4-8 Run Bike Run at Westlake. (Duathlon) 

This event is an opt in for the children. Attached is the information notice. At this stage we have 31 Year 4 children opting into the race.

Home Learning

At the moment Maths Home Learning is the students using Matific. No Home Learning tasks are being added to Seesaw.
