Here are some notices, information and reminders about what has been happening in the Year 7/8 Hub.

Te Hapua - Next term Miss Berquist's class will be heading down to Te Hapua on Fridays. They will be walking down unless it is raining, which will mean we will need some help transporting students there and back. If you are able to help out, please contact Sarah and let her know what days you could assist her.  

Basketball - A notice has gone home this week for Basketball at Pioneer in Terms 2/3.  There will be a variety of days that teams can play in and teams for your child to play for. Please make sure they have returned the form to Mr Forman so he can start to look at the possible options that each year level can be entered into. 

Koru Games - This week we have introduced some of the games that will be offered to students to compete in at the Koru Games. We will continue to do this next week as well so all students can experience new and different sports. There are some sports that students will be able to enter into that we will not experience at school e.g. Tennis. We can definitely enter students into these sports at Koru Games but it will require parents to attend trainings during the week and also attend the Koru Games competition as well. We will send out more information about this later.

Integrated Learning - This term we have been focussing on asking our students to make a  difference. They have chosen to make a different by creating a how to  guide to producing a good video , which will improve the quality of videos in school assemblies. These guides have been targeted towards teachers and students in the school.

Celebration of Learning - Next week on Friday Oaklands School will be having our Celebration of Learning. 1:45pm in the hall. 

Leadership - We now have had our first people earn their Merit Badges - Well done Ella Wilson, Annabel Keylard, Brianna Greaves, Charlotte Koers and Felix Barnes. We will also have some more students confirm their Merit Badge on Monday. Well done everyone!

Year 8 Chocolate Fundraising -  Next week will be the last time for students to get chocolate out to sell over the holidays. Please make sure your child hands in all money and forms so they can get some more chocolate to sell.
