Class K5/6B - Mr Meyrick

Caleb Meyrick —

Wow, the year is almost done... check out below how we have gone throughout this year.

Trips throughout the year

We have been on a couple of pretty awesome trips such as our city walk near the start of the year and our Museum/ Art Gallery trip earlier this term.

City walk

This is when we walked through the city exploring historic landmarks as it related in our Integrated Learning and how other cultures have shaped Christchurch.

Museum/ Art Gallery trip

Students were able to visit the Museum and Art Galley earleir this term as a way of learning about transformation and the changes that have been made in our history to then look to make changes to our space at school.

Extracurricular activities

Kapa Haka

Many of our students joined in Kapa Haka where we went to Ngāti Moki Marae together as well as Tūhono where we placed 3rd overall. Considering this was our first time competing out of 8 schools, this was an amazing attempt!

Student comment:

Kapa haka was fun and the competition was the best to do we got 3rd overall.

Many students from our class also joined in on our Jump Jam team where we went and competed and gained third in Christchurch. This was an awesome moment for our first time.

Student comment:

Jump Jam was my highlight because it was so much fun we were prepping for a competition and at the same time hanging out with our friends and exercising.
