As the school term is coming to an end, students were asked what they have enjoyed and what they are most proud of in Term 2. Read their thoughts below.

Yasindu - This term we had lots of opportunities like handball tournament. This team my whanau class went to Te Hapua to do coding and robotics. The year ⅞ are doing technology. We are doing woodwork, Food, Science, Textiles and design and Chinese. I am doing Textiles and design. We have had Koru games trials and had a practice for Koru Games to. I got into the soccer team.

Johanna - The thing that I have enjoyed most this term is Novel study because the book that I was reading (The Present) is something that I wouldn't really read especially how it is a bit of an old book and also because it is the type of book that I personally think everyone would enjoy. But the most thing that I like about “The Present” is that parts of the book is accurately relatable. Another Highlight of T2 is Technology because it gives us a chance to communicate with people in other schools and it is fun. I am currently in food tech which is a lot of fun. Basically it teaches you the basics of cooking and hygiene.The best part of food tech is eating it because most of the time they are healthy and yummy.

Felix - I have enjoyed technology at Lincoln because the stuff you can do is really fun like Science because we made a water rocket and launched it and that was really and I am also looking forward to foods because then I can make yummy food and that we got to do koru game trials which was really fun and I tried out for touch and got in the A team and also doing Ixl which is really fun.

Taylor - In Term 2 so far I have enjoyed going to Tech on a Tuesday because you get to do things that you haven't done before like woodwork and textiles and design. I am also looking forward to going to foods and making yummy dishes. I am excited to go to Koru games for touch which I got in the A team for. I have also enjoyed novel study because you get to read books that you haven´t read before. I like AVAILLL because you get to watch movies that you haven't watched before and you are learning at the same time. I have also enjoyed integrated learning because Me and Felix are making planters out of plastic bottles and we have almost finished them and they look good. I hope the next two terms are as exciting as the last and that I will have lots of fun with my friends and teachers. 

Soulin - I enjoyed doing Wood work for Technology. The hardest thing about it is to try and make the wood smooth. What I am making is a tray. Another thing that I like to do is Te Hapua we have two things that we do and they are Robotics and scratch/coding. For Coding we had to make an instrument to play the star wars theme song, I made a bassoon with Noah. The thing that I am most looking forward to is Koru Games, because I am doing Touch and i’m in the A team. We are doing AVAILLL and we are watching Wizard of Oz. We have done two activities already. 

Zara - My highlights of term 2 were getting to do really fun but challenging fitness and I love getting to do buddy program. I think doing hard fitness is really good because it keeps you fit for high school when you may not have as much time to do fitness. I love having a bond with my little buddies. Novel study has been fun and I think it pushes me to read more. I have really enjoyed technology and getting into the Netball team for Koru games.

Brayden R - This term I’ve enjoyed most of things especially technology, the new types of things we’ve have learnt whilst doing i’ve really enjoyed food tech so far. I’ve also improved in most areas for basically everything and during this term I have began to enjoy writing (which used to be my least favorite subject. Every  Friday (for Mr Muller's class) have been doing drama which i’ve really enjoyed and had given me a small boost in my confidence.

Ella - This term I have enjoyed fitness, even though it’s hard I always feel good after it’s complete. Novel study has been good it pushed me to read something I probably wouldn’t pick out for myself (walking into the fire). For technology I’m doing science, I’m learning lots of new things and my water rocket flew really well. I have really liked maths this term in particular the measurement work, I have learnt how to find the area of a triangle. I’m proud of making it into a volleyball team, it is quite fun.

Crystal - This term I enjoyed Arts rotation because I enjoyed Visual art (shapes of nature) I also enjoyed Koru games training because I made it in the girls football team and I was in the girls football team last year, I also enjoyed integrated learning because Me, Ye young and Solani made lava lamps and we really enjoyed seeing the lava lamps change into their places when we add the Oil and Food colouring.

Nicholas - Relax and draw -  I’m proud of my drawing because I've gotten better than last term and I've also enjoyed drama because it's a lot of fun being myself and more expressive.

Aysha - I enjoyed doing Novel study this term because the book I was reading was interesting. Another thing that was really fun was Tech because we got to do lots of fun things in science and also decide what we were making in Textiles and design in Textiles and design I decided to make a watermelon pillow.I started cutting the fabric out but ran out of time because we had to come back to school. Something else I enjoyed was our first Koru Games practice. I am doing Football because it is a new sport to me and I wanted to try it. The most Important rule in Football is control and pass. Term two has been a really fun and good term this year. 

Noah - This term I have enjoyed doing fitness because I have never done any fitness like it and it isn’t in my comfort zone which is good. I have also enjoyed textiles and designs because Tr’e and I are planning to do some claymation at the moment which sounds really fun. Koru games has also been fun because I have only done it twice and I am touch, a sport that I find fun to play with my friends. I am also really enjoying our time at Te-Hapua because they have a lot of cool activities to do with coding and robotics. My favourite thing we did there was making a bassoon with Soulin and it worked.

Riley - In Term 2 I enjoyed Integrated Learning because we got to recycle plastics and turn them into something cool. My group my lava lamps out of unwanted plastic bottles. Our final product looked amazing. Another thing I enjoyed this term was Technology. I'm in Science and we’ve been making water rockets. We got to fly them and they went shooting up in the air. The thing that I am most proud of this term is Maths with Number Strategy because I found it really hard at the start of the term now I find it easier.

Ye-Young - This term I have enjoyed the Arts rotation because I really like visual art. I also like Technology because I really like doing woodwork. I really enjoy making things. I like AVAILLL because even though we have just started this I enjoy watching the movie and having to concentrate on the movie to answer/finish an activity. I also enjoyed Integrated Learning because I liked making lava lamps out of plastic bottles. 

Amber G - This term I have enjoyed the Arts rotation (I am doing Drama) because it gives us a chance to get out of the classroom and do something different. In Drama, we are learning about improvisation and we are learning about techniques that we can use to make our performance better. I am proud of my novel study because I have learned lots of new words and read a new book that I have enjoyed. I think that novel study is good because we can read new books that we wouldn't usually choose and that instead of learning on a book all together we can read different books.

Caleb - I have enjoyed Maths at school, especially adding and subtracting decimals and fractions in several different ways. One of my favourite subjects is Buddy Programme, because I love working/playing with younger children and gardening with them, and gardening in general. I also enjoy Novel Study because it involves reading parts of a book over and over again when I need more information to answer the comprehension questions. I also loved the Word Nerd activities because some weeks there was word problems like: How many words can you make that have three or more letters, from these letters? erikanfalo. I am proud of how far I have gotten in maths in the last two terms, especially Term 2. I love when Maths gets hard because then I can go to a teacher to ask how to work it out and then I learn something new! I am proud of my Word Nerd activities as well, and I love it when my teachers score my work 100/100.

Denver - Some of the best parts of this term are novel study because we get to read a different book and when we get up to the part where we stop reading, it always ends on a cliffhanger. Technology is one of the best things we do all year because we do different activities like, Textiles and Design, Woodwork, Science and Food Technology.

Logan - This term I have enjoyed Maths (surprisingly) because it’s easy, but some are hard and i’m proud of how far i’ve gotten. Secondly, I’ve enjoyed the Arts rotation and Technology. Art, because we get to draw and Technology because we get to do different activities for a set of 9 weeks in Textiles and Design, Woodwork, Science, Foods (cooking). My favourite activity at Technology is probably either Science or Cooking. Science, because we do different activities like rockets made out of a plastic bottle and we also get to make sherbet. Cooking, because we get to cook different things like hangi, pizza and spongy pudding. I’m also really enjoying something that we have just started and that’s AVAILLL. In AVAILLL, the teachers pick a movie with subtitles and then we have to do activities based on that movie like word hunt and word definition.

Yarek - I have enjoyed Technology this term (I am in Textiles and Design) because I could create a soft toy for my baby sister. I am making a butterfly. We also learnt how to thread/stitch stuff with the machine. I am proud that I have been more involved in and out of class with different learning and activities. I have enjoyed Buddy Programme because it’s fun. I like doing lots of different things with the buddies like gardening, games and cooking.

Hannah - This term I have enjoyed doing Maths, in particular Measurement because I have learned about how to measure area. I have also enjoyed Novel Study because it made us think really hard about what we had read. I like doing Relax and Write because there are some cool prompts that we have to write about. This term what we have been doing in Integrated learning was really cool because we were doing stuff about sustainability and we had to reuse something to make it in to something we could use again. I am proud of what I have learned about in Maths. I am also proud that I have given Drama a go for our Arts rotation and now really look forward to when we do it on a Friday afternoon. This term I have enjoyed Buddy Programme because we could do gardening/cooking and buddy time which was when we could play and read with them.

Caitlin D - This term I have enjoyed Reading, Writing and Maths. Most of all I have enjoyed Technology, mainly woodwork because we got to choose what we make. My class has been going to Te Hapua we have 2 things to do Robotics and Coding. My favourite is Coding because we get to make our musical instruments using Scratch and Makey Makey.
