The Head Boy/Girl and Deputy Head Boy/Girl

Steve Ladbrook —

Check out their reflections on the year.

Anneke Stone (Head Girl)

Being Head Girl has been a great way to prepare me for high school and my future. I loved all the opportunities that came with it such as: public speaking, running student council, going to various events and much more. It has also helped me improve many skills, public speaking being the main one as I had many opportunities to do this throughout the year. I believe that being Head Girl has given me that boost of confidence and made me feel prepared for high school and the years to come.

Charlotte Lynn (Deputy Head Girl)

Being Deputy Head Girl has given me great opportunities that I haven’t done before like: going outside of school to get donations, being part of student council and running assemblies etc.

This role has been a great way to prepare me for high school and my future. As leadership is a great skill in life having this role has helped me. I have also improved my public speaking as I never liked speaking in front of many people and now I am more confident.

Joshua Fentiman (Head Boy)

Being Head Boy has been a great way to prepare me for high school and my future. Leadership is a great skill and it will help me in life and being Head Boy has helped me a lot. I have improved my public speaking, as I have done lot’s of it throughout the year. As part of my role, I had to help run student council. Also, I have enjoyed the leadership opportunities.

Nicholas Tan (Deputy Head Boy)

Being Deputy Head Boy has been a great way to prepare me for high school and my future jobs. Leadership is an important life skill to have and being the Deputy Head Boy of Oaklands School has helped me gain that skill. Another skill I have improved on since being deputy head boy is my oratory skills, gained from the amount of public speaking I have done throughout the year. As part of my role I had to help run the student council, where I had to do minutes and we also had to run the weekly assembly.
