Wonderful Windy Wellington
The Year 8 Camp
Camp was a wonderful experience for the Year 8s because we got to spend our last moments together as a group and experience things we never thought we would see.
It was good to get out and walk in Wellington as everything was so close. The area was nice to be in and four of us had never been on a plane before!
It was really cool to see all the history of NZ because we learnt about our country. Going to Parliament and being in there to meet some prominent politicians.
It was fun making making memories with classmates we may not hang out with. The Gallipoli exhibition at Te Papa was enjoyable as we were able to get up close to the exhibits, they were so lifelike.
The pantomime was a 'lol' and Jacky was crowned as champion dancer. We never forget Peggy Leggy giving a shout out to Oaklands.
it was incredible to see the Māori exhibit at Te Papa. It was so realistic with marae and waka. The representation of different iwi by pou, seeing real weapons that were used in the war was super important. Being able to rub the pounamu was very special - wairua.
