WANTED:  Lego

Claire Braithwaite —

For building Mathematical Minds across Oaklands!

We are wanting to integrate the use of Lego into our Maths programmes to give the students another tool to help them build mathematical concepts.   Some examples of how Lego can be used to develop mathematical concepts:

*  fractional knowledge can be developed by using the bricks to represent different fractions.

* bricks can be used to help students learn their addition, subtraction, multiplication and division basic facts.

* develop problem solving skills through using real world materials.

* building the concept of square numbers.

Therefore we would like to ask the community if you have any no longer used lego at home to donate it to Oaklands School.  If you have any donations please email claire.braithwaite@oaklands.school.nz.

Thank you !!!
