LEST WE FORGET.
Some of our Student Leaders participated in the recent Halswell ANZAC Ceremony.
The day dawned cold and misty. Good ANZAC Day weather the florist informed me; when I picked up a beautiful wreath that would be placed at the foot of the Memorial, by the Student Leaders later that day.
The ceremony was a moving one. The large crowd that had assembled enjoyed music, songs and speeches by a variety of different speakers and performers.
It was nice to see so many of the Oaklands School community involved, be it simply as part of the audience or as part of the many groups represented eg. Scouts, Brownies, Pippins and Guides.
Ella and Felix did an amazing job of representing Oaklands. I was very proud to see them lined up with lots of other school leaders and extra proud to watch them walk confidently up and lay the wreath at the foot of the memorial.
It was a great community event which we look forward to being involved in again next year.
