Week 10 in the Year 7/8 Hub
Integrated Learning -
Big idea: How can we apply our knowledge of heating and cooling to improve the quality of our everyday lives?
The issue: The temperature of the learning spaces at Oaklands School needs to be ‘just right’ to allow learning to happen. It’s difficult to achieve the perfect temperature for learning. Something needs to be done. It’s time to apply your knowledge of heating and cooling to help yourselves & others.
The aim was to produce a resource that provides information and tips for their target audience to use to achieve the perfect temperature for learning. Students created a variety of posters that will be displayed around the school to support other students in making positive decisions to achieve the perfect temperature for learning.
Learning Portfolios -
Students have been working hard this week to ensure their Learning Portfolios are up to date with their Term 3 learning. These presentations will continue being added to throughout the rest of this year. Students who have been absent this week will add their learning at the beginning of next term.
Links to these presentations were sent out earlier this term. If you need this link again please contact Sarah, Bryan or Lance.
Talent Show -
We were lucky enough to be in the audience at the Talent Show final this afternoon. Well done to Vanessa Tam who performed in the show. Also, a thank you to the students who assisted Mr Sy in the running of the show this afternoon.
Te Hapua -
7/8BB will be going to Te Hapua next term. A notice will be coming home early Term 4 with further information regarding this.

Have a fabulous holiday break. We will see you all again at the start of Term 4, Monday 15th October.
