SeeSaw at Oaklands School
What is it? How do my children access? How do I access it? How does SeeSaw work with Distance Learning?
What Is It?
SeeSaw is an online learning and sharing platform, used across the globe for students to engage in learning programmes in class using the thousands of available activities that can be assigned by teachers, as well as using it to share examples of learning as photos, drawings, written work, video and/or audio recordings.
In 2021 SeeSaw is being used in a Year 1-2 team and our Year 3-4 team. Throughout the year the students will learn and develop the skills needed to use this platform.
How Do Students Access it?
After completing their Cyber-Safety training in the first two weeks of the school year, students have had sign-in pages glued into their Home Communication books. These pages have QR codes that the students can scan using the Class SeeSaw App or the camera of a computer/laptop (if using a device without a camera these pages also have a 12 digit code the student can type in to access their SeeSaw).

How Do Parents Access It?
At the start of the year your child's classroom teacher will have shared a link with you that connect you with your child's SeeSaw account. Simply open the shared link, click on your child's name and sign into SeeSaw. You can either sign in with an existing SeeSaw account if you have used SeeSaw in the past, or you can use a Google account if you have one, or you can create a new account by clicking on the "Create Account" option.
If, for whatever reason, you need your child's classroom teacher to send you the link again please don't hesitate to ask.
For faster access to your child's SeeSaw you can either download the SeeSaw Family App if you are using a tablet or a phone, or you can use a computer/laptop and sign in using the SeeSaw website.

Distance Learning
If Oaklands School was to forced to return to Distance Learning, SeeSaw will be the primary tool used for Distance Learning in Year 1-4.
It will be used to share all learning activities and lessons while working from home.
