We have a great team of Peer Mediators at Oakland School

This Year we have a team of 36 Year 7&8 students who are trained Peer Mediators. 

What are Peer Mediators? "The Cool Schools Peer Mediation Programme is a whole school programme for Primary and Intermediate Schools that teaches essential life skills for peaceful conflict resolution. The skills taught empower individuals to build positive, caring relationships with others especially when conflict arises over differences." - Cool Schools, Peace Foundation, N.Z. 

Our students help out in the playground at morning tea and at lunch time. They wear bright green vests and use an ipad to record any problems they help solve. We are very lucky to have these amazing students working hard to help in our playground.
