Read some post event reflections from of the athletes below:

Name: Missy Randall

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: I enjoyed the run bike run because it was my second event where I got to help and not just do. I think I came 10th which meant that Zoe had to give me 2 lollipops because we made a deal. One of my highlights was when I got to help someone finish the race even though she was struggling. My second highlight was showing the year 4’s where to go on the bike.

Name: Maria de Schot

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: I used to do run bike run back in Blenheim, but it was a choice, so I think I only did it one or two years. There was also no choice to do it in a team, only individuals. The running, biking, and running tracks were all the same - Going up and down and around grape vines. Even though I only did the biking part this year, it was much easier because my bike is much faster on a smooth footpath than on bumpy patches of dirt and grass. I was in a team with Julie running the long run, and Iris running the short run. Our team won 5th place! All in all though Run Bike Run 2020 was the best one I have done so far.

Name: Rose Brorens

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: I really enjoyed the run bike run 2020 because the student leaders got to help out a lot and it was fun to help others that were struggling to cross the finish. Also this was the first time that I have got into the top 5 by coming 5th which means I get to go to Zones at Ruapuna. Another thing that I enjoyed was cheering on other year levels and seeing everyone get involved and have lots of fun.

Name: Jennifer Xu

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: I really enjoyed this years run bike run, this is because I got to help out in a lot of things, all the other years of run bike run, all I had to do was just sit around until my race, so I'm really grateful that I got to help out around this event. Another reason why I enjoyed run bike run this year is because this was the first time I ever got a placing. I was in a team with one of my close friends Amber. It was really fun and both our teamwork got us to first place.

Name: Charlie Barnes

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: I enjoyed the run bike run because I thought it was really fun and I liked how it challenged me, especially the last run. I think it's fun even if you're unfit.

Name: Jaxson Stove

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: I enjoyed the run bike run. I came 13th in year 7 boys.  It was fun. It challenged me, especially the last run. The run bike run makes you feel like you 'saw the light.'

Name: Nathan Michel

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: I enjoyed the run bike run because I thought it was really fun. The last run I had to go hard out because it was challenging because Cody, Wilbur and Caleb were pushing me really hard when I was running.

Name: Bella Clark

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: I really enjoyed doing the hub games because we got to play tricky tag and rats and rabbits. I also really enjoyed the race because I came 4th! That was the best I have ever done. Also since I got 4th, that means I get to go to zones! I also enjoyed sitting with my friends because before the run bike run started we were playing Never Have I Ever. I was sitting with Zubia, Eden, Meagan, Mela, Hollie and Lily.

Name: Zubia Banoori

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: At run bike run I really enjoyed the house games because we played a bunch of fun games like rats and rabbits and tricky tag. I also enjoyed the run because it was quite challenging and I had to really push myself. A plus at run bike run was that I came 6th in my race and I had never came a placing before so I was very proud of myself. It was also fun before the run because I was playing never hav I ever with my friends Bella, Eden, Mela, Hollie and Meagan.

Name: Ashley Young

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: I really liked run bike run because it was my last one at Oaklands school and I also liked how everyone was giving it a good go. I would like to thank the teachers and the people who walked down with us to Westlake. The event would not have happened without them. I had one of my best days at Oaklands on this day.

Name: Erica Yin

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: This year I really enjoy run bike run because I felt like this year it was way easier to get through it. I also enjoyed playing Rats and Rabbits that was quite enjoyable, and next year I’m definitely dressing up in house colours.

Name: Sophie Agnew

My thoughts on the Run Bike Run: This year I had a lot of fun in the run, bike, run and I felt that it was easier this year too I really liked the game of rats and rabbits and i'm looking forward to doing run, bike, run next year.
