Writing

We have been writing descriptions. 2EM and 2KV have made cut up monsters and described those, 2AH and 2EC have been describing interesting places.

Maths

We have been learning about 3D shapes in Geometry. We made 3D shapes with paper nets then used them to build houses and other buildings.

Topic: Technology and Science

This term we are learning about science and technology. Last week we learned about gravity and air resistance and built standard paper helicopters to get some base line data for how long they stay in the air.

This week we designed a new helicopter, changing one feature to make it stay in the air longer. We made and tested our new design to see if our change was successful.

PE: Gymnastics

In PE this term we are working on Gymnastics. We will be learning body shapes, different kinds of rolls, different kinds of jumps, and building sequences of shapes, rolls and jumps.

So far we have learned all the shapes: stretch, straddle, pike, and tuck. We have also learned the pencil, hedgehog, and dish roll. 

No Gymnastics next week because of the St John lessons, but after that we will be working on the circle and elephant rolls. 

The Arts: Drama

We are learning about drama this term. This week we acted out scenes in slow motion.
