Home Learning Challenges in Yr7/8

Lance Muller —

Year 7/8 students complete Home Learning Challenges as part of Leadership Programme.

We have a strong focus on Leadership in Year 7/8 at Oaklands School. Home Learning Challenges also link to our CARE Values and are one aspect of our Leadership Programme.

There are a wide variety of home learning challenges available to students. Click on the link to view the challenges that students may choose from.

Some popular choices of home learning challenges so far this year have seen students..........

  • Designing and preparing a 3 course meal for their families.
  • Undertaking work experience in varied and interesting locations  eg hair salons and Toyworld.
  • Researching and practicing different photography techniques.
  • Visiting high school open nights.
  • Researching family trees.
  • Participating in events eg Weetbix Try and Mud Run.
  • Improving fitness by either running, biking or swimming over a number of weeks.
  • Preparing travel itineraries.
  • Performing at least 20 different random acts of kindness.
  • Teaching a family member to use a new ICT tool.
  • Organising and making a donation to a charity.
  • Designing their own challenges eg helping out on the farm.

We are very proud of all of the hard work that the students are putting into these challenges and we look forward to seeing what interesting things they will challenge themselves with as the year progresses.
