A fun and engaging option is available next term for girls keen to experience cricket - the popular Girls Cricket Smash.

The team at Canterbury Cricket run a fun and engaging cricket programme for Year 3-6 girls called Cricket Smash. Our local module is held at Halswell Domain, with the emphasis on promoting cricket in a fun and supportive environment.

Held over 6 weeks on Tuesdays it begins in week 4 of term 4 (31st October). Registrations are open, and a number of Oaklands girls have already signed up, excited to be involved in such an awesome programme.

Rebecca from Canterbury Cricket will visit Oaklands at the start of term 4 to hold an introductory session for interested girls.

We are nearing the start of the summer season so I wanted to remind you that Girls Smash Halswell will be happening again in Term 4. We had great numbers at this programme last season so are looking forward to continuing this momentum, and providing opportunities for more girls in years 3-6 to try cricket. No previous cricket experience is necessary, the focus is on having fun and learning new skills.
