Blog Post 2 of 2 - Learning Update

Good afternoon parents and caregivers. 

Here is a outline of the learning that is to be completed this coming week through distance learning. Please note, there's some new learning under Literacy (Punctuation Ladder) and Creative Time (Mihi Assignment), otherwise most learning expectation are the same as the last few weeks. There is a substantial amount of learning that should keep them busy through the week.

Literacy 

Two specific workshops for Murray Gadd. These are Monday and Tuesday starting at 9:20am. Wednesday and Thursday students can access help on Wednesday and Thursday on Zoom at 9:20am. Students will also have a Murray Gadd follow up Activity.

Read for 30min a day and update 40 Book slide in Google Classroom

Writing Prompt - The Tsunami - Found in the Google Classroom

Current Events Activity - Found in the Google Classroom

Punctuation Ladder - Step 1 Activity - Found in the Google Classroom

Numeracy 

Students continue working on IXL - Students should aim to complete around an hour of Mathematics, five times a week on Numeracy Knowledge and problem solving - Found in the Google Classroom.

Students to complete problem solving independently over the week - Wednesday and Thursday students can access help at 9:20am on Zoom if they wish.

XtraMath - Complete a session each day 

Money Time- Complete a 15min session each day - Year 8 only.

Health and Well-Being Time

Mindfulness - Complete some mindfulness videos on the Taiheke Slide.

JumpJam - Students can complete 2 or 3 songs.

Fitness Challenge - There is a new challenge for the 30 Day Fitness Challenge - Found in the Google Classroom.

Runners Club - Go for a 2km run 3 times this week, it will help you when we return to school.

Creative Time

Small Changes Activity - Found in the Google Classroom.

Mihi Assignment - Write, practise and record your Mihi - Found in the Google Classroom.

Watch Education TV 

Complete Leadership Challenges - Found in the Google Classroom.
