Once there was a poor village and some boys were really wanted to have a soccer pitch in their village. Some people didn’t believe in them so they got some money and built a wooden soccer pitch. Over time they became a really famous soccer team.

They showed resilience by never giving up.

They persevered by believing in themselves and their friends.

This term, I have been learning about Healthy living.

The 3 main things about Healthy Living are: Healthy eating, Sun smart and Exercise. But there are more things than just those. There are also Environments and sleep. First of all, We need Fruit and Vegetables because they give you lots of Vitamins and Minerals. Also Water is very good for you, it helps clean your body. Now Sun-smart, Always wear a hat. The best hat is a wide brim hat. Sun block/ Sun cream, on sunny days wear lots of sun-block and watch out for UV radiation because they can give you cancer, burn your skin and damage your eyes. Oh and a tip, Don’t eat too much sugar because it makes you fat. You have to Persevere because if you can’t help it and eat 18 cookies each day you will be overweight. When you get too fat you can die. Now Exercise, When you Exercise you lose weight. So get up on your feet and start Exercising! If you sit down and do not move, you will get fat easily. Now Sleep, you need to get rest after your very long day. You have to Sleep 10 hours a night and it will help you grow more. Finally Environments, We need a stable Environment and No smoking.

In 2011 Tuesday 22nd of February at 12 : 51 Christchurch City was struck with the 6.3 earthquake.

There were many casualties , as well as many historic buildings knocked down. People persevered by not giving up even when people’s homes were destroyed. Christchurch kept going strong. To make Christchurch smile artists came to do art on the concrete walls of buildings for example: We Got The Sunshine. Close to the center of the city there are 185 white chairs to remember the people who lost their lives in the earthquake, one which I knew. My house wasn’t damaged too badly . Here’s a poem

I’m looking around my home town wondering how it would be with buildings soaring above me, but my home, Christchurch, is resilient because we’re not giving up on anything.

George is a strong builder at the age of 70 years old. He should be retired but he is not. He is a race car driver and he fixes the car. He shows great perseverance and does not sturggle.
