Last Thursday 70 year 5-8 students travelled to Hillmorton High school to compete in the annual South West Zones athletics meet.

A bright, sunny morning awaited us as we arrived at Hillmorton High School. Boys competed in the field events in the morning session whilst the girls did the track events. This was switched around in the afternoon.

The competition was strong as expected and it was so pleasing to see the amazing results achieved by our students.

All of the above students, except the relays, have earned the right to represent the South West Zone at the Canterbury Championships at Ashburton Domain on Wednesday 7th December.

Well done to these athletes, and to the whole Oaklands squad. You were amazing. Bring on the Canterbury champs.
