Weetbix TRYathlon 2017 - it's coming
The 2017 Christchurch version of the very popular Weetbix TRYathlon is set down for Sunday 26 February at Jellie Park
Each year a large group of Oaklands students register to swim, bike and run in and around Jellie Park for the hugely popular Weetbix TRYathlon.
For those who have attended before, you know just how much fun and reward is gained from participating. For those who haven't, it's time to jump aboard the Weetbix TRYathlon train. Children love it. It is an action packed, fun filled day. It is a superbly run event with Christchurch being the largest of all the 16 events nationwide.
We would love to have as many Oaklands students active and participating as possible. If you know someone who is not at Oaklands and is not already linked up to a school, you can link them to Oaklands School when you register.
Our largest number linked to Oaklands is 88, which won us an award for the school with the most students participating. Let's aim high in 2017 and try for the magic 100 mark.
The best method of registration is online at the official Weetbix TRYathlon website. Just log on to register at tryathlon.co.nz or you can call 0800weetbix.
Once there, just follow the easy steps to register. By registering from home and linking to Oaklands you will receive the special school group discount price of $37 (earlybird special) or $41.50 (online) instead of the regular online price of $46.50. So, get in early and receive the discount.
Last year the event 'sold out' and there were some disappointed students and parents. Getting registered as soon as you are able will solve this potential problem.
