Woodend Camp Term 4

Steve Ladbrook —

On the 3rd/4th December, Hub 5 will be camping at Woodend.

This is the first blog post/notice (many more to come) about the Woodend Camp in Term 4.

Here is some key information about the camp:

  • It is a 1-night camp.
  • The camp is at the Woodend Christain Camp.
  • The focus of the camp is to focus on students working together to go outside their comfort zone.
  • We will be needing some parent help in order to go.

The last point is what we wish to expand on now. The Oaklands School Board of Trustees requires any parent helpers for overnight camps to be police vetted. This process takes 6-7 weeks. Subsequently, any parent who would like to be considered as a parent helper will need to submit a request and consent form at the school office by the 10th August.

Please note

  • When submitting the form to the office you will need to bring 2 forms of ID  They need to be originals (no copies) and one needs to have a photograph on it. The school office will make a copy for the application.
  • If you have already done this for another Oaklands School trip then you do not need to worry. If it was more than two years ago you may wish to check with the school office to see if it is still valid.

That's all for now, if you have any more questions about the camp then please email your child's whanau room teacher.
