Sickness
We have had a lot of children go home from school, we think there's a virus passing through Miss O'Loughlin and Miss Brash's class we had very small class numbers on Friday. Some of the main symptoms seem to be a headache, fever and feeling sick.
Please keep your child home from school if they are presenting any of these symptoms to prevent sharing it around.
Reading
All the children are settled in their Reading, please keep up with reading at home so the children can earn their bookmarks.
We have been continuing to read our chapter chat book Fing which the children are really enjoying and working through activities each week. This week the children drew croco crocos made Fings and drew maps. From next week we will be using Twitter to share what we have done and comment on other schools learning.
They are still doing a normal reading rotation as well so should be bringing books home everyday sometimes they will read half a book with the teacher when their books become larger.
Writing
This week we wrote about our weekends on Monday then we made a card each for our support staff because it was support staff day on Thursday. Miss Brash's Class did cards for Mrs Qu.
We all had a special support staff member to thank for the time an efforts they put into our children's learning.
Maths
Miss Brash's class and Mrs King's class have just finished doing some fractions. Miss O'Loughlin's Class focussed on tidy numbers and addition of double digit numbers. Mr Fowlers class have been focusing on number knowledge and strategy's to work out problems.
Bully Free Week
This week is bully free week! We looked at what bullying is and the effect it has on others. We also talked about what we need to do if we are getting bullied or know someone that is being bullied. At the end of the week we had our pink shirt day where all of the teachers wore pink to acknowledge the importance of the Anti Bullying campaign Mrs King looked dashing in her pink tootoo.
