All students who live within the home zone shown on the map below are entitled to enrol at the school. Prospective students living outside the zone must apply for enrolment via the ballot.

A ballot is held each term to allocate surplus places to potential students living outside the school's enrolment zone boundaries. 

A map of the enrolment zone approved by MOE (stamped and signed in the bottom left corner) can be found at the top of this page.

Home Zone

• From the intersection of the Christchurch Southern Motorway (SH76) and Halswell Junction Road;

• South east along the north east side of Halswell Junction Road to Nicholls Road, North-east along Nicholls Road until the intersection with Halswell Road,including Rearsby Drive and Gibbs Place,

• East through the Halswell Domain to the junction of William Brittan Avenue and James Height Drive,

• East along James Height Drive to Milns Road, including Cridland Place,

• South on Milns Road to Sparks Road, including all addresses on Six Silvers Ave, Sentinel PI, Shield PI, and Armour Pl,

• North, then west on Milns Road to Halswell Road,  including addresses 288-398 Sparks Road North on Halswell Road to Aidanfield Drive,

• North east along the north west side of Halswell Road to Augustine Drive,

• North on Augustine Drive to the Canterbury Agricultural park / Curletts Road Reserve,  including Templetons Way, West, then North along the boundary of the Canterbury Agricultural park / Curletts Road Reserve to the Christchurch Southern Motorway (SH76), South west along the south side of the Christchurch Southern Motorway (SH76) to the intersection with Halswell Junction Road, Including from the Intersection (overpass) of the Christchurch Southern Motorway

• (SH76) and Aidanfield Drive, North on Aidanfield Drive to Wigram Road, South on Wigram Road to Awatea Road (including Musgrove CI), South on Awatea Road to the Christchurch Southern Motorway.

Addresses on both sides of boundary roads are considered in-zone unless specified otherwise.

What does this mean for my family?

• If your family lives within the school's enrolment zone: your child(ren) may enrol at Oaklands School at any time.

• If your family lives outside the enrolment zone: you will need to complete the Out of Zone Enrolment Procedure to seek a place for your child(ren) at Oaklands School.
