The senior leadership group, which involves the Head and Deputy Head Boys and Girls, House Captains, Sports Co-ordinators and Cultural Ambassadors, have been coming up with ways to make Oaklands a better place. 

We have been learning about how to be a better leader which involves being able to motivate groups of people to achieve a goal. Every Monday we have been having leadership meetings with all of the house captains and head students, In these meetings we have all been coming up with ideas for the school.

Here is a list of things we are looking at doing at Oaklands:

• The head students are going to running a Poster Competition about Oaklands
• Rimu House Captains are doing a Cooperative games for our house.
• Miro House Captains are going to fundraise for a charity which is raising money for Fiji as the cyclone has it them. 
• Kowhai House Captains ran some games for the Kākano students last week.
• Rata House Captains have created a new house chant
• Sports Co-ordinators are going host a mini-football tournament between the houses.
• Cultural Ambassadors helped run a very successful Multi-Cultural Day.
• House Points Co-ordinators who have been keeping a track of who is winning the House Competition
