One potato, two potato, three potato.....SIXTEEN!
Success for Kākano Potato Grower
350 buckets, 1000 litres of potting mix and 350 seed potatoes came into the school last year as the Kākano children learned how to know if something is a living thing and what living things need to thrive.
Every child was given the opportunity to plant and care for a seed potato during Term 4. Then in the last weeks of school a trail of bucket-carrying Kākano families could be seen taking their bushy treasures home to await the time when they could search beneath the soil.
Zoe Lomas from Room 4, waited longer than most and recently discovered 16 yummy potatoes in her bucket, ready to be served up for dinner. Fantastic effort, Zoe!
