Hub 6 - Term 2 highlights
It has been a term that we won't forget. 8 weeks of term one, then lockdown, school holidays brought forward and then a 12-week term. Read on to see our highlights.
It does seem a little like term 1 and 2 have been one continuous term, and this is reflected in some students reflecting on the Waipara camp as a highlight. There have been plenty more highlights, and we would like to share them with you.

We value the ideas, thoughts, questions, suggestions and energy of the wonderful hub 6. Here are their thoughts.
I really liked doing winter sport trials and also doing portrait art.

Somethings that I have really enjoyed this term are Winter Sport Trials and doing fun portrait art. Also I enjoyed doing Minecraft : Education Edition. Waipara Camp was also a big highlight because of all the amazing activities like kayaking, giant swing and abseiling. I also enjoyed reading books on Epic.

Somethings I have enjoyed about this team are making a Top Team Challenge, getting to work with other people out of my pastoral care class, and designing and using my imagination for designing a game.

Something I have enjoyed doing with this team is about place value (PV) because I love maths and it is easy for me.

I loved doing portrait art and I loved doing sustained silent writing (SSW).

I loved doing projects like the Gratitude Project and the Kindness Project because I like working in groups on one thing.

I liked it in lockdown when we could eat whenever, and now I like how we can collaborate with story jumper because Jenna are I are making a funny story with it. We are having a lot of fun with it!

My highlights: one of highlights is math whizz because I got 12 progressions last week, and months ago I usually got 3 or 4 progressions. Also one of the other highlights is doing Kelly Sports with Hugh. One of the favourite games was juggling soccer balls

My highlights for this term have been working with Amelia and Willow on our book called “The Venomous Cure.” Doing Kelly Sports with Hugh is one of the highlights of my week because every Friday morning he would come and teach us. I like being able to work with Willow for most of my activities, it was fun being able to work on our kindness slide and gratitude book with Willow. :D

My highlight of this term was Portrait art, because I have improved a lot after 1 term. Another highlight of mine is Kelly Sports, as it was so much fun to move around and burn some energy every Friday.

My highlight of this amazing term was In lockdown doing the Minecraft challenges for It was super fun creating and making my Amazingly Amazing town !!!

An enjoyable highlight this term was perimeter and area, for it was a challenge that was amusing. It was also gratifying, learning new ways to solve areas, and perimeters of shapes. Another apotheosis (high point) was gratitude, because I learned how it impacted on me, and my family, as it associated with well being.

This term I have enjoyed Winter Sport trials, because I got to play against people with different skills.

Something I enjoyed this term were the zoom meetings and the lego challenges. This is because they were not normal but fun.

Something I enjoyed is portrait art because we have not done art lessons this year.

I have enjoyed learning about Art because I think I have improved a lot and I am very Happy with my work. I tried very hard and didn’t give up, even when my eyes were nothing like symmetrical.

Something I enjoyed this term is SSW because I love to write fantasy stories and fiction books. I have also enjoyed writing The Truth according to Arthur in lock down because I think I made a funny story and had a blast doing it.

Something I am proud of is me and Nicole's kindness poster. This is because we worked really hard to try to inspire others to show kindness. I’m also proud of me and Erica’s support staff poster. Although we had some problems, we still finished everything.

Something I am proud of is Kindness because Louise and I made a very cool looking poster. What we wrote down was how you can show kindness. Something else I am proud of is the Top Team competition. Me and Jesslyn found it hard but we finished just in time.

Something that I have enjoyed this term was Kelly Sports because whenever it was raining we could do it. I have enjoyed winter sport trials because I like soccer and I wanted to make this school have the best soccer school team.

Something I have enjoyed this term has been Jump Jam because you get to dance.

What I really enjoyed this term is: SSW, SSR, Maths Whizz, Top Team, Freeze Frame videos and Kelly Sports. Some things I have really enjoyed doing over Lockdown are: Good News Bad News, The Truth According to Arthur writing, Lego Challenges and music group. I enjoyed these because they are fun and intriguing.

I really enjoyed doing winter sport trials because it was a lot of fun. Also, doing math whizz even though some of them were hard. I got them in the end. Also Kelly Sports because it was challenging but I got there in the end.

What I really enjoyed this term is: Waipara Camp, Top Team, Kindness project, Sport Trials, Kelly Sport, choir, Life Education, Math whizz, SSW, SSR, area/perimeter robots,Small Changes Challenge and more.

Something I have really enjoyed was going to Waipara camp and sliding down the waterslide. More things I enjoyed were: Lego Challenges, SSR, SSW, Maths, sport, area/perimeter robots.

I have really enjoyed doing Kelly Sports and winter sport trials. SSW for me was really fun
Learning new math strategies was a really important part for me this term as I couldn't do it without the strategy. : )

My highlight this term has been Kelly Sport. It was unbelievably fun. I enjoyed it because I got to get out of the class and had some fun. I relished my opportunity to find new games to play. That's another reason I loved it so much.

My highlight is my portrait art because it is fun as it suits my personality. I like drawing and I love learning how to draw faces.

Something I have really enjoyed for the first two terms is portrait art because I was allowed to do something I thought I could never do at class time. I love art. it is beautiful and majestic. One more thing I liked to do was the Kindness Project. I learned to be extra kind to people and not to be mean or rude. My parents and I sat on the couch and looked at how we are grateful for grandma, gramp, Aurora, Riley, food, toys, us and more. I like being a Wet Day monitors because all the kids were nice to us. I liked Waipara Camp too. It was new to me and so much fun. I loved it more than art.

Something I Have enjoyed these last two terms is Waipara camp because when I did the giant swing I got scared at first but then I did it. Also I enjoyed winter sport trials because I got to see everyone's different skills and I loved playing the sports.

Something I have enjoyed for the first two terms is: Waipara Camp because I got to do some new, fun and super exciting challenging things like the giants swing and the crate stacking. Also I really enjoyed my sports trials and Kelly Sports because I might get into a netball team and I got to try some new activities. SSW is something I love to do as I am making a book with some of my friends and it is very funny. SSR I can read and that is something I love to do. In the lockdown werearea/perimeter robots because I got a whole bunch of food from the pantry and then made a robot. I had a lot of fun figuring out where to put all the food items.

Something I Have enjoyed this term is Kelly Sports and the sport trials. The reason I liked them was because they are both sport related.

This term I enjoyed camp, and minecraft education. I also have the BEST teacher ever.

In term 1 I enjoyed going to Waipara Camp and giving everything a good go. My favourite part was the giant swing because I can be afraid of heights however I went to level 3!
