Our new school caretaker

Oaklands Redevelopment —

If you have seen a new face (topped off with a large leather hat) around school it is our new caretaker Sven Christensen.

Sven is a former youth worker and horticulturalist who joined our staff in Term 1. He is married and the proud father of four adult children.

Sven says he feels lucky to be Oaklands School's caretaker because the job is fun, keeps him busy and allows him to work alongside a 'great staff'.

Sven loves horticulture and says he is really excited to be able to share his knowledge of gardening with students in the future. Over the years he has volunteered his time and taught horticulture to people in a range of community groups.

Ivan Rush, our longstanding school caretaker, has retired but will be helping out over the next few terms so you might still see him around.
