The Oaklands School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has been going for a number of years. It contributes to the school financially as well as running some great fun events such as the annual Twilight Gala and the ever popular school discos.

Over the past five years, for example, the PTA has raised over $60,000 for the benefit of the school and pupils.

These funds have been raised through a number of activities including:

· School discos

· Sausage sizzles and juicie sales

· Twilight Galas

· Calendars

· 2nd hand uniform sales

· Calendars

· Raffles

· Seed sales

Your help and support, as parents, is invaluable to the PTA, and we thank you for your contribution to our fundraising efforts.

Each year, however, the PTA loses a few valuable parents as their children move on to high school or leave the area.

Now, as always, the PTA needs new members. There is no experience needed - only willingness to attend the meetings, bring new ideas, initiatives and your enthusiasm; you can help as little or as much as you can depending on your personal commitments.

The PTA is holding its annual general meeting on Tuesday 1 March 2016 at 7:30pm in the staffroom.

We invite all interested parents to come along and meet the committee members over a glass of wine or a soft drink and a nibble. Find out more about what we do for the school and what you can do to help us!
