Have you got your 'Maths Eyes' on?

Claire Braithwaite —

Across the school we have been using our 'Maths-Eyes' to look at the world around us.

Maths-Eyes is a tangible way for us to improve our Mathematics skills, by seeing numbers and Maths in the built and natural environment around us.  By putting on our Maths-Eyes the students have been able to relate Maths to their real-life situations and apply their knowledge and strategies in a range of contexts.

Over the holidays you could put your Maths-Eyes on with your children and see what Maths you can see in your local environment,  in magazines/newspaper, brochures, posters etc.

For starters try these two Maths-Eyes pictures with your family...
