Here's a wrap up of how the last few weeks have been and how we are going to end the last week of the term.

Leadership - All students in the Hub have been really engaged in their Leadership role, especially on wet days! Across the last few weeks where the weather has been extremely difficult for them to carry out their Leadership role, they have all stepped up and made things work in such difficult situations. Many PALs have led Jump Jam and organised mass activities on the courts when the field has been out. The Librarian's have had huge numbers through morning tea and lunch, they've been prepared having activities and online stories for all to listen to. 

Literacy - Over the last five weeks we have been focusing on our Novel Study, looking at key themes that run through novels, key questions around the text/characters and finally unpacking the complicated vocabulary in the text. 

In the last week we will be completing a movie from our AVAILLL Programme. This is an audio/visual learning programme were students read sub-titles and complete activities on them. 

Maths - In the last month, we have been learning about Measurement;  this included perimeter, capacity, area, length and the volume of cylinders, cubes, pyramids and many more.

In the last week we will be doing some Cantamath type learning around problem solving where students will need to solve answers to questions they would've never seen before. 

Integrated Learning - For the last 6 weeks we have been looking into what sustainability means and what it looks like from a world wide view to a local/school view. After doing a lot of research about up-cycling and have Michelle Cust coming in and showing the students how to up-cycle items, we asked students to choose something from their own recycling  to up-cycle into a product.

Bake Sale - There is a Bake Sale in the last week on Thursday for all Year 8 Students to help them fundraise for their trip to Wellington.
