Novel Study

This week we have started Novel Study and have 9 novels on the go! Each week there are required pages to read, comprehension questions to be answered and follow up activities (including character, emotional response, theme and vocabulary) to be completed. 

We allow enough class time to complete all of the requirements and expect students to be completing the work during class time rather than at home. If students fall behind with pages we do encourage them to take their book home to catch up. Please encourage your child to be reading their required pages for the week. 

Maths

This week is our final week focusing on Number Strategy. Next week we are moving to a 2 week focus on Number Knowledge. 

As part of Maths Week we have had daily challenges to promote problem solving. See if you can solve the problems below.

PTA Fundraiser - Original Foods

Oaklands School PTA is excited to announce that we are partnering with Original Foods Baking Company for our latest fundraiser. Earlier this week your child will have brought home information and an order form. Forms and money are due into the school office by 3pm Friday 23rd August.
