Matariki

The past 2 weeks we have been learning about Matariki and integrating this into our classroom learning.

We have read a few different stories and discussed the language from these texts, and incorporated Matariki into out big book and follow up activites.

We are all in the process of publishing a piece of writing about Matariki, we can't wait to share these with you.

We have some beautiful Matariki stars made with colourful collage as our community art project, come and see these displayed in our window.

Shared Kai

Taiheke were busy this week making delicious soup for a Matariki shared kai. They worked together to get the ingredients ready and were patient as it cooked away. Rūrutu iti and Rūrutu nui came to join in and enjoy some of the yummy vegtable soup.

Kaitiakitanga

Throughout the last week we have had some eager tidy kiwis working hard on picking up rubbish, after learning about our environment and the ways we can help take care of it. These amazing kaitiaki have been showing our community value and we are very impressed with their efforts. Check out the photos of just some of the rubbish they found!

Clothing

Can you please check your child's clothing regularly for names as we have noticed some children's items are going home with the wrong people.

Cutlery

Can you please ensure you pack any cutlery your child will need for their kai, in their lunch boxes. 

Dance Group

Dance group will be performing at the celebration assembly on Friday the 9th of July. Come along and check out their moves!
