Year 7 Camp - Wainui

Sarah Berquist —

We had a fabulous 3 days in Wainui. Activities included high ropes, archery, team building, kayaking and some intense games of spot light! Here is a wee snippet...

A small group of students were asked what their most enjoyable moment on camp was and what challenged them the most.

Tamihana - I enjoyed spotlight the most because Yarek and I survived the first round. The high ropes was the most challenging because I was scared of falling down. I was proud that I completed 1 of the high ropes challenge.

Sam - Spotlight was fun because I didn’t get found in the first round. I found high ropes challenging because it was scary standing up high on the wooden plank.

Amber - I enjoyed the YMCA dance party the most because everyone was doing the train and started dancing. The most challenging was high ropes. When I was doing the ladder climb the gap was too high and I couldn’t reach.

Joey - Most enjoyable was archery because it was fun shooting at the target. The most challenging was the high ropes because it was really high up.

Yarek - My favourite activity was the high ropes because it was fun. I made it to the top and no one else could! The most challenging part was running across the log when I was up high because it was hard to balance.

Ella - I enjoyed jumping off the kayaks. I felt challenged when climbing the high ropes ladder.

Zara - I enjoyed getting a bullseye in archery. It took me forever! I was challenged when completing the vertical playpen on the high ropes.

Caitlyn - I enjoyed learning to kayak for the first time in the ocean. I felt challenged when completing the ladder challenge on the high ropes.
