Primary Schools Swim Championships - Thursday 15th October
School has only just started back and already our awesome athletes are out there competing and taking on the best of other Canterbury schools. This week we spotlight the Primary Schools Swim event held at the Selwyn Aquatic Centre in Rolleston.
This event was postponed from term 1 due to Covid-19 so it has been a long time between swims for students.
Having performed successfully at our school trials and the South West zone trials, 6 swimmers ensured a date on the big stage at Rolleston.
The squad was:
Year 5: Kaiya Hiku, Jocelyn Cai
Year 6: Lily Wilson
Year 7: Erica Yin, Cale Hiku and Luke McIntosh
Due to the extension work to the swimming complex, only swimmers and marshals were allowed entry to the pool area, with parents/caregviers and supporters, waiting patiently for results from the car park.
That is why we are lacking for photos of the swimmers in action, but have a photo of 3 amazing swimmers just prior to getting down to the serious business of racing.
A huge thank you to the wonderful parents/caregivers who transported and supported our swimmers on the day. It is much appreciated.
