Week 7 Term 1
Week 7 promises to be a busy week. Check out what's coming up next week.
Swimming:
We have our regular pool sessions booked for Monday afternoon and Friday morning. We encourage your child to bring their togs and get involved in our water safety/skills programme.
Life Education:
This starts this week. We will be exploring three key questions with Harold the Giraffe!
These are:
1 - Why is physical activity good for our bodies?
2 - Why do we need to eat different kinds of foods throughout the day?
3 - What can we do when we have problems? (conflict resolution)
Top team Challenge:
We will be involved in this fun team building event on Tuesday afternoon.
Bake Sale:
We have our first fundraising bake sale for the year on Wednesday 18th March. Year 8 students that wish to be included in this fundraiser need to bring in some baking to sell. Baking will be available for all students to purchase at morning tea on this day. All funds go towards the year 8 Wellington trip.
PALs Training
The second group of PALs will be having some training on Thursday this week. They will be rotating through 4 workshops run by staff from Sports Canterbury. These workshops are:
1 - Creating a vision for PALs at school.
2 - Managing games.
3 - Adapting games.
4 - Organising games.
In between all of this we will be continuing with literacy and numeracy and all of the other regular school programmes!
Last but by no means least - We have a case of Chicken Pox in the hub. This is simply an FYI and a request to keep an eye out for symptoms in your own child. Thanks heaps.
