Week 5 in the Yr 7/8 Hub

Lance Muller —

Next week, while the Year 8 group is in Wellington, the Year 7 group will have an alternative programme.

While we are in Wellington, the Year 7 group will be participating in a leadership programme run by two experienced outside educators. As well as this they will be doing some community service around the school. Mrs Ellis and Mr McAven will be looking after the group while we are away.

Dayle and Tracy have put together an interesting programme that will hopefully serve the Year 7 group well as they prepare to take on the role as leaders of the School.  The programme will run as per the outline below:

One-hour pre-session #1 - Monday 12 November 9:30 - 10:30 am

Listening skills – Why, when and how

Effective understanding and connection with others.

One-hour pre-session #2 - Tuesday 13 November 1:30 - 3pm

  • Please note that this is an afternoon session as the Lincoln Tech Programme will continue as normal in the morning.

Emotional Triad – teaching the ability to change your emotional state and reading others.

Awareness of self and others leading to emotional empathy and the development of the empathy radar.

Full Day - Thursday 15 November - 9am - 3pm

Introduction and recap of the two pre-sessions information.

Morning Session

6 Human Need psychology – Why we do what we do and how to read it in others

Conflict animals – What’s your conflict style and how best to deal with others styles.

Afternoon Session
