It's back! We're very excited to announce that the Oaklands Year 8 Quiz Night is back to help our fundraising efforts in getting our students to Wellington.

The last quiz we had was in 2019, we're glad to say that it's back to stay!

The Quiz is an event that is organised and run by the Year 7/8 kaiako, the proceeds go directly to help support the families in their fundraising efforts.

The Quiz will be held at Oaklands te kura o Ōwaka on the 15th of September in the school Hall. The doors will open at 6:30 pm and start at 7:00 pm sharp.

The event is designed for the community to attend and enjoy. We do allow alcohol to be brought in and consumed, but we have some rules around this:

• Beer and wine are acceptable.
• Pre-made RTDs are acceptable.

Here are our non-negotiables around alcohol and consumption:

• Bottles of spirits are unacceptable. We will ask people to leave these with us, and they can be collected at the end of the night.

• If you become overly intoxicated or are not drinking responsibly, you will be asked to leave. We have students attending on the night, and we won't be placing them at risk. It's a community event!

On the night, there will be bags of chips, savouries, and soft drink that can be purchased.

Please come with an open mind and a can-do attitude so that you can earn extra points for your quiz team!

Please bring extra cash for the raffles, chocolate wheel, and bourbon coin toss.

The largest number of people that you can have in a team is 6. Tickets are $15 per person, and there are 45 tables. Tickets go on sale Wednesday next week, a order form will come home which you can use to place your order. All tickets can be purchased through the school office. Get in quick, it's always a sell-out!
