Senior Choir
2019 has been a blast! Bring on 2020!
The Senior Choir has had a busy 2019. This year, the senior choir consisted of roughly around 100 senior students. Every week these children attended Friday morning practices, learning songs to perform to the whole school.
Music Festival
This year, Oaklands school also participated in the 80th Music Festival, which saw the Festival back in the Town Hall again. This year the theme of the Music Festival, You're the Voice, was the celebration of the iconic music we have had over the past eight decades.
Here is a list of the songs that we performed:
- God Defend New Zealand
- This is the Time and This is the Place
- The Rainbow Connection
- Chattanooga Choo Choo
- Peace Song
- California Dreamin'
- Somewhere
- You're the Voice
- A Te Tarakihi
- Welcome Home
- Land of Hope and Glory

Anthony Wilding
This year, the choir was also able to visit and perform in the Anthony Wilding Retirement Village. This was an amazing trip, thoroughly enjoyed the children involved and the residents of Anthony Wilding. On the trip, we were able to showcase our awesome singing as well as other talents such as instrument playing, dancing (Highland, Rock and Roll, Contemporary) and gymnastics.
