PCT Competition 2018
A group of 8 super fit year 7/8 students competed in the PCT Bluelight Competition.
The PCT Competition involves teams of four year 7 and 8 students competing against each other over the physical competency course used by the Police. This year Oaklands was represented by Ella Wilson, Hannah Wallace, Micah Chivers, Sam Iffland, Ashley White, Madeline Laing, Taylor Foster and Jak OConnell. As always, we could not participate in events like this without parent help and we are very grateful to the parents who helped us out on the day.
The PCT event provides a novel and exciting way for our students to test themselves both physically and mentally. Teams of four race against the clock, working together to complete the Police Physical Competency Test in the fastest time possible. This is a nationwide competition with the winning teams from each region getting an all expenses paid trip to the national finals in Wellington.
Unfortunately we were not on the podium this year but our teams have learned a lot and there is already talk of how we could train specifically to do really well at the PCT competition next year. Be sure to check out the video of one of our teams in action.
