Keeping Ourselves Safe
We have been learning about our feelings!
We have been learning about our feelings and what we can do when we feel a certain way.
We talked about what makes us happy and how that looks on our faces (smiles). We also talked about what makes us sad and how that looks on our faces (frowns). We shared ideas of strategies we can use if we are feeling sad or someone is feeling sad to make them feel better. Some of the strategies were to play a game with friends, help others if they are hurt, smile at each other and include others in activities.
We met our Kimotchi friend Cloud and read a story about his best worst day. In the story Cloud gets really angry and starts being mean to his friends because he is angry. We talked about how it is okay to feel angry but what strategies can we use to calm down so that we are not mean to our friends. If we are angry, we can walk away from the situation and we can calm down and breathe by thinking about smelling the flower (deep breath in) and blowing out the candle (deep breath out).
