Year 7/8 Food Technology

Lynette Stinson —

Each week a group of students are lucky enough to take part in Food Technology.

Each week when our Year 7/8 students go to Technology at Lincoln Primary School some of our students take part in an amazing Food Technology programme. This week the students did an outstanding job of planning and making a two course meal. The brief said they needed to use at least 5 fruits and/or vegetables that are in season. They were able to choose two of these: Entree, snack, main, dessert or a drink.

Here's what the students had to say about this experience:

Aquila "Our meal planning went really well because we had everything organised and everyone had a job. We had times for doing everything. We made burgers, fries and a berry smoothie. I enjoyed eating the food."

Ellie "It was really interesting and different to plan out a meal because it's not something we do at home. We made fruit smoothies and pizza. The best part was making the pizza, it is something we can now make at home."

Sienna "We did a good job. We planned it really well. We made garlic bread, apple crumble and chicken noodle soup. The garlic bread was the best."

Matthew "I think it was great to make our own menu. We could have communicated a bit better. We made pizza and blueberry and banana muffins. The best part was getting to make a meal that we got to choose."

At the end of the 6 week unit each student was given a printed booklet of recipes to take home and share with their families.
