Oaklands School Senior Choir Shines at the Lions Christchurch Schools Music Festival

Are you ready for the musical event of the year? The Oaklands School Senior Choir certainly is! Our talented young vocalists are thrilled to be part of the upcoming Lions Christchurch Schools Music Festival, a spectacular showcase of musical talent in our community. This festival is an unforgettable experience for students and parents alike, featuring about 1000 pupils from various schools who will perform at the stunning town hall. The evening will be accompanied by a full orchestra, including all students and representative choirs, promising a night of enchanting melodies and harmonious voices.

Preparing for the Spotlight

In the months leading up to the Lions Christchurch Schools Music Festival, our dedicated choir members have been hard at work, perfecting their vocal talents. One crucial part of the preparation is attending an area rehearsal. This rehearsal is a unique opportunity for Oaklands School Senior Choir, as they come together with numerous other schools, uniting their voices and sharing their love for music. During this session, expert conductors meticulously assess each choir's strengths and weaknesses, providing valuable feedback and guidance for improvement.

The area rehearsal is not just about refining vocal skills; it's also a chance to foster collaboration. Oaklands School Senior Choir members are excited to connect with peers from other schools.

The Final Rehearsal

The day has finally come! On the morning of Oaklands School Senior Choir's performance night at the Lions Christchurch Schools Music Festival, our talented pupils, along with their dedicated instructors, attend a rehearsal at the festival venue. This rehearsal is the last opportunity to fine-tune their voices, become familiar with the stage, and get acclimated to the grandness of the performance. It's a moment of excitement and nervous anticipation, as students prepare to give their best on the Friday evening.
