Well Being.

Margaret Trotter —

Komodo is a wellbeing platform for students. The mission is to positively impact the lives of all student.

Here is some information on how Komodo can support your child to flourish and thrive at school. Students complete a regular well being survey one a week.  Students cam communicate with their pastoral care teacher at the end of every survey.  Students are able to request an in person check in at any time and are promoted to do this at the end of each survey.

Hall of all life time mental health disorders emerge at age 14.  Research shows that regular check ins provide a comfortable environment for students to help them share their concerns and voice their needs.  Self-reported information gives staff an accurate insight into difficulties faced by students, providing opportunity for prevention and early intervention.

The survey has been designed by Oaklands Te Kura o Ōwaka  and the Komodo's Psychology team to have a custom survey which measure specific areas of well being per year level. By highlighting trends and flagging individual students who are struggling in particular areas of well being, Komodo enables Oaklands Te Kura o Ōwaka to optimise The proactive pastoral care.

The pastoral care team is able to identify shared well being challenges using aggregate data. Emerging issues are revealed across the student population, allowing whole school strategies to be developed for proactive support.

Last week was our first week introducing this programme to our students. Each week the data is reviewed by a team of staff. This enable all our students to have a voice in their well being.
