The Year 3-8 students are off to the Te Hapua Aquatic Centre (Halswell Pool) and the Halswell Domain grounds for a day of fun next Thursday, and we would like to invite you along.

The aim of the day is for students to participate in some fun activities both at the swimming pool and the Halswell Domain grounds.

Given the limit to the number we can have in the pool at any one time, we will be organising teams in a rotation to make use of the pool and grounds.

The fee for the event ($5) is included in Term 1 Activity Fee form handed out to your child at the end of last year. A copy of this can be viewed, and downloaded from the school website.

Permission for this event will come through payment of the fee, and your signing of the Blanket Consent form that was available at the Parent/Student/Teacher meetings over the first 2 days of school. Should you not have received a copy, these are available from the office, or you can email your child's pastoral care teacher. 

At the pool students will participate in some organised races/challenges, including the popular 'house' challenges. At Halswell Domain students will choose from a range of co-operative activities, as well as use the shade of the trees to relax and enjoy their morning tea/lunch.

Parent/caregiver Helpers

We will be walking down and back, including crossing Halswell Road, and we do require the assistance of our wonderful parent/caregivers to walk with us, and if you are keen, to help with some of the activities. 

A notification form will come home towards the end of the week, and there will be a section for 'Parent/Caregiver Help'. If you are able and keen to join us, please complete this and return it to your child's pastoral care teacher.

All parent helpers will receive more information as we will need you to pop in prior to departing from school for a briefing from a teacher. This will include the route we will take, and your role and a chance to answer any questions you have. It takes 5 minutes only and then you will join your child's team for the walk down.
